Change a User's Role

About this task

Once the user roles are configured, you can assign roles to different users or user groups and the users will inherit the set of permissions defined for that role.

To assign roles to different users or user groups:


  1. In the SOTI Identity Admin Console, open the main menu in the top left and select Applications.
  2. Select the application where you want to assign users and click the Assign User icon in the Applications Actions menu bar to open the Assign Users dialog box.
  3. Find the user or user group whose role you want to change and open the Role dropdown list. Select new roles or clear existing roles for the user or user group.
    Tip: Use the search field to find users and user groups faster.
  4. Click Update to save your changes.


Permissions are updated for the selected users the next time they sign in.
