Controlling User Access to Apps

About this task

In the SOTI Identity admin console, administrators can manage user access to applications and assign roles to individual users or groups. Users or groups automatically inherit the permissions defined for any role assigned to them.

Tip: Set role permissions in advance to ensure users inherit the correct access.

Procedure

To assign roles to different users or user groups:

  1. In the SOTI Identity admin console, open the main menu in the top-left and select Applications.
  2. Select the application you want to assign users to then select the Assign User icon in the applications actions menu bar. The Assign User dialog box opens.
  3. Select the user or group you want to assign the role to then select the Edit button.
  4. Open the Role dropdown list and select all the roles you want to apply to the user or group.
  5. Select Update to save your changes.
  6. Select Done to return to the Applications list.

Results

Permissions take effect for the selected users the next time they sign in.
