Can students from other streams participate in the online test?

Yes. If you absolutely love programming, and developing software products is your passion, you are welcome to apply!

Can I participate in the online test if I have backlog?

Yes. If you are really passionate about coding, and if you can crack our exam, you are welcome.

Can I apply for both Internship and Fresher recruitment opportunities?

No. You need to choose between the two – either Intern or Fresher (not both).

Do I have to make payments for an internship with SOTI?

SOTI does not require payment to be an intern. Instead, we pay our successful candidates Rs.30,000 per month.

If I am successful and work at SOTI as an intern, is there an opportunity to become a full-time employee with SOTI?

Yes. After the successful completion of internship and review process. Please note this is NOT an automatic conversion to a full-time employment.

I have 1 to 2 months between semesters. Can I do a 2 month internship?

SOTI requires a minimum commitment of 6 months.

What is the duration of SOTI's internship program in India?

Six months. Generally, from January to June.

What can I expect during my internship with SOTI?

SOTI's internship experience includes opportunities to upgrade your skills, work on important key projects that contribute to the company's roadmap, plenty of hands-on mentorship and team building opportunities to network and work with national and international team members.

What can I expect during the interview process?

Our interview process has both informal discussion and technical elements. We will first want to get to know you, and have a friendly discussion. So, feel at ease!

During the technical interview component, we try to understand your critical thinking abilities, logical reasoning and depths of your knowledge. We will ask questions to get to know more about your understanding of different technical concepts, and any experience working on them in your studies. A good understanding of data structures and algorithms will help a great deal.

In the final round with our People and Culture team, we try to understand your skills, abilities and passion.

Be yourself! It will be a good discussion.

What are the dates of the interviews?

Generally, the interviews take place within a fortnight from the online test. We will inform your Placement Officer. You will also be contacted over email if you are applying directly.

Can I speak in my native language?

Our panelists do speak some of the Indian languages. Ideally you can mix English with your native language/Hindi so that you can express your thoughts better.

Do you give marks for English proficiency?

No. There are no special marks for English proficiency, though we strongly encourage you to refine your English competency skills, as we are a global company and this is the language we work in with our global colleagues.

Is there an employment bond?

No. We do not ask freshers/ interns to sign any bond. However, our recruitment process is very selective and we intentionally seek candidates who want to make a long-term commitment to growing within SOTI. We support extensive training, career paths and make a large investment in our internship programs. If you are not interested in this type of long-term commitment, consider giving the opportunity to someone who would love to do so.

When will the intake be?

SOTI's Next Gen Campus Recruitment Drive in South India is for the July 2023 intake.

Can we use mobile phones to take the examination?

Mobile phones are not permitted to take the online test. Only desktops or laptops are permitted.

Can I take the test from home?

Yes, or anywhere you choose.

How will I receive my test link?

It will come to your registered email ID. Please make sure that your email ID is correct and there are no typos.

When will I receive the test link?

You will receive the Online Test Link by Saturday, September 3, 2022. If you do not receive it by then, please inform your Placement Officer. Please check your Junk/SPAM folder before contacting your Placement Officer.

On which date will the online test take place?

Monday, September 5, 2022

What time is SOTI's online test?

The time will be mentioned in the email with the test link. The duration of the test will be 3 hours and 15 minutes. Please make sure that you login within the time frame. Your link will be active only during the allotted time frame.

May I do calculations on a paper during the coding test?

Yes, this is permitted.

Are there any negative marks?

No. There will be no negative marks.

What type of questions can I expect in the online test?

It will be competitive coding questions. We strongly encourage you to practice.

I don't have laptop. How can I take the online test?

Please contact your Placement Officer immediately and request arrangements. In the past, some students borrowed the laptop of a friend, neighbor or family member to take the online test.

Can I attend the online test in an Internet cafe?

Yes, but only if you can ensure privacy. If people are standing behind you or people are moving, it may get reported as cheating. Ensure your location is private.

The data (name/email/mobile/college name) that I entered in the registration form is wrong. How can I get this corrected?

Please take extra care while filling out the information form – especially your email and phone numbers. This information is used for all forms of correspondence, including the test link. Please DOUBLE CHECK before your press “submit”.
