Renaming a Device

About this task

To rename a device:

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, click the main menu button and select Devices.
    The Devices view opens.
  2. In the left pane, select the device group that contains the device you want to rename.
    The devices in the selected group appear in the right pane.
  3. In the right pane, do one of the following:
    • Click the selection button beside the device you want to rename. The device action bar appears.
    • Click the device name of the device you want to rename. The device information panel opens.
  4. On the device action bar, or in the device information panel, click the Rename button.
    The Update Name dialog box opens.
  5. In the Update Name dialog box, enter the new device name and click OK.

Results

The device has now been renamed.
