Notifications (macOS)

Use SOTI macOS Notifications profile to manage notification settings for apps on macOS devices using their bundle identifiers. This profile enables you to specify which notifications are allowed, how they are displayed, and other notification-related preferences for individual applications.

Note: SOTI macOS Notifications profile require macOS 10.15 or later.

Use SOTI macOS Notifications profile in the following scenarios:

  • Managing Notifications: To control which notifications are allowed and how they are displayed for specific applications on macOS devices.

  • Enhancing User Experience: To ensure that important notifications are not missed by configuring critical alerts that bypass Do Not Disturb settings.

  • Security and Compliance: To enforce company policies by restricting or enabling notifications based on organizational requirements.

Settings

Setting Description
Application Name The name of the app to apply the notification settings to.
App Bundle Identifier The read-only value of the bundle identifier for the application.
Enable Critical Alert Enable an app to mark a notification as critical, allowing it to bypass Do Not Disturb and Ringer settings.
Enable Notifications Enable notifications for an app.
Show in Notification Center Enable notifications to be shown in the Notification Center.
Show in Lock Screen Enable notifications to be shown in the lock screen.
Alert Type Specify the alert type:
  • Banner: A temporary notification that appears in the top-right and disappears after a few seconds.
  • Modal alert: A persistent notification that stays until manually dismissed.
  • None: The system does not show a notification but may log the alert in the Notification Center.
Enable Badges Enable the app to allow badges.
Enable Sounds Enable the app to allow sounds.
