Analyzing Smart Battery Condition

Smart battery analysis provides you with extensive data so you can get the most out of your battery fleet. Use the Smart Battery Dashboard to analyze the performance of swappable batteries or smart batteries embedded in devices, track their usage, and estimate the appropriate time to replace them. Batteries are tracked by serial number.

If you want to analyze battery usage from the perspective of the device, use the Battery Status dashboard on the Devices tab.

Note: See here for a list of smart batteries supported by this version of SOTI XSight.

The following topics are available to help you use SOTI XSight smart battery functionality:

Batteries are added into SOTI XSight using one of the following methods:

  • By uploading a CSV file that includes the new battery information. See here for more information.
  • By simply inserting a new battery into a device that has an SOTI XSight Agent and an XT socket.

A battery is considered new when its information is first added to SOTI XSight, but before it is installed in a device. Once installed in a device, the battery is automatically moved to the In Use state. It remains in this state until it gets decommissioned by the user.

Smart battery data is collected periodically (at least every 15 minutes and when any event involving the battery takes place), as long as the battery is connected to a device and SOTI XSight Agent.
