Remote Control on Zebra Devices

You can remotely control external displays connected to Zebra Android devices to effectively troubleshoot apps that only render correctly on an external display. This enables retailers and service providers to introduce dual display kiosks/scanners to customer locations, while ensuring app support on a variety of displays.

Note: This support is for Zebra Android devices that have an external display via Zebra Workstation Connect (ZWC).

Features

  • When remote controlling a Zebra device that has both a primary screen (for example, a mobile device screen) and secondary screen (for example, a external monitor) display, you can switch the remote control session to view and control either the primary or secondary display.
  • When starting a remote control session for a Zebra device in dual display mode, the default display is the one shown within the remote control.
  • Remote control functions, such as video recording, screen rotation, are supported on both displays.
Note: Annotations are not currently available on ZWC devices
  • Switching displays when a video recording is underway is not supported.
  • When switching displays, the remote control session automatically adjusts to the resolution and orientation of the display being remotely controlled.
