About File Manager

The File Manager enables you to view and manage files on a device you are remotely connected to. Use File Manager to perform the following actions:

Note:
  • All the above actions are available on Android devices.
  • On Windows and Linux devices, all the above actions are available except for folder download.
  • On macOS and iOS devices, file download and status viewing are available.
  • See Displaying the File Manager for instructions on how to open File Manager.

The table below lists the available File Manager tools and explains their use.

Tool Usage
The search field Appears across the top of the device's file/folder tree. To search for a file (not a folder), type the name of that file, or part of that name (at least three characters), then select the Search link in the right-hand part of the field. The link changes to Cancel. You can select it to return to the full file/folder tree.
Device (the file/folder tree) Displays a navigable tree of files and folders found on the device. If a file search has been initiated, the results are displayed here.
File/folder-specific toolbar
Appears across the bottom of the device's file/folder tree when an item (file or folder) is highlighted in that tree. The toolbar buttons are:
Download

Select to download the selected file or folder.

Note: This option is available for folders on devices with the Agent version 14.5.1 or later.
Delete Select to delete the selected file or folder.
Rename Select to rename the selected file or folder.
Remote Control toolbar

Appears in the top right-hand corner of the page with the File Manager icon selected. Select any icon for the corresponding remote management action.

File Manager toolbar
Appears in the bottom right-hand part of the page. The toolbar buttons are:
Upload

Select to upload a file or folder to the remotely controlled device.

Note: This option is available for folders on devices with the Agent version 14.5.1 or later
Status Center Select to view statuses of the previously initiated file management actions (uploads and downloads).
