Antivirus Protection

The Antivirus Protection profile configuration enables you to monitor files and applications on devices for potential virus infection. You can schedule scans to run at regular intervals.

Important: If your SD card is mounted with a name other than sdcard, the antivirus program might not find viruses located in that directory.

General

Select the types of antivirus monitoring you want on devices.

Application Monitoring Turn on this option to enable the scanning of installed applications for viruses. Applications are also scanned when they are launched.

Select whether you want potentially infected applications to be moved to the quarantine folder or deleted.
Action for Infected Applications Select how SOTI MobiControl should handle infected applications:
  • Choose Quarantine to move the application to another location on the device. You can select the location in the Quarantine Location on Device field.
  • Choose Delete to remove the application from the device.
  • Choose None to do nothing with the application.

This option is only visible when Application Monitoring is enabled.
File System Monitoring Select this option to enable the scanning of newly downloaded or modified files for viruses.
Action for Infected Files Select how SOTI MobiControl should handle infected files:
  • Choose Quarantine to move the file to another location on the device. You can select the location in the Quarantine Location on Device field.
  • Choose Delete to remove the file from the device.
  • Choose None to do nothing with the file.

This option is only visible when File System Monitoring is enabled.
Quarantine Location on Device Enter the location on devices where you want quarantined items to be stored.

Click Antivirus Scan Schedule to set a schedule for running antivirus scans and emptying the antivirus quarantine.

Click Empty Quarantine Schedule to set a schedule for emptying the antivirus quarantine.

Antivirus Whitelist

Use the antivirus whitelist to specify applications and files that you want the antivirus to ignore while performing its scans.

Click Add to add a row to the Application and Files table where you can specify which application or file you want whitelisted.

Quarantine

The Quarantined Applications and Files lists all infected applications and files that are currently in quarantine.
