Distribute Apps

About this task

After you've created your apps, it's time to distribute them to app users. You can control who gets which apps so users only receives apps pertinent to them and their roles.

SOTI Snap apps work on both Android and iOS devices. See System Requirements for specific supported versions.

Procedure

  1. Create groups. Groups are how you control the dispersal of apps to users. Every time you publish an app, you will assign it to a group or groups. Then, as part of the device enrollment process, each device is enrolled into a group. Devices will only receive apps that are assigned to their group.
  2. Set up a device enrollment method to ensure that only approved users have access to your apps. SOTI Snap offers several options to meet your organization's needs.

  3. Publish an app and assign it to at least one group.
  4. Instruct your app users to download the SOTI Snap agent from either the Google Play store or Apple App store, and enroll into SOTI Snap.
    Depending on the enrollment method you chose, you may need to provide them with enrollment information as well.

Results

Once an app user enrolls, their device is added to a group and all apps assigned to that group are automatically downloaded to their device.

Whenever you update and republish an app, changes are sent down to the device automatically.
