Remotely Viewing iOS Devices via Device Agent or Application

Before you begin

Make sure SOTI Assist is installed on your server. For instructions, see SOTI Assist Help.

About this task

This functionality is compatible with all iOS versions.

Note: You can view only the SOTI MobiControl agent and applications that embed the SOTI MobiControl SDK. These include SOTI's applications, such as SOTI Hub and SOTI Surf, as well as customers' proprietary apps.

To start a Remote View session:


  1. On the iOS device:
    1. Open a device agent or a SOTI MobiControl SDK-enabled application.
    2. Go to the Configuration page and make sure that the device status is “Connected.”
      Note: The agent or application must remain in the foreground for the duration of the Remote View session.
  2. In the SOTI MobiControl console:
    1. Find and select the user’s iOS device.
    2. Click the Remote View icon.
    3. In the Remote Control dialog that opens, select the Web-based option button and click OK.


The Remote View session starts. It will continue until one of the following occurs:
  • The device agent or a SOTI MobiControl SDK-enabled application is closed on the device
  • The Remote Control plugin or the web-based client is closed in the console
