Android Enterprise Work Profile

On a device with a Work Profile, the device is a personal device owned by the device user. This management style is often called BYOD or bring your own device. Through Android Enterprise Work Profile, SOTI MobiControl installs a Work Profile (or 'container') on the device. Inside the Work Profile, you can manage apps, data, and some settings. However, because you have no control beyond the borders of the Work Profile, management actions are limited to those that can be containerized and don't affect the personal side or device as a whole.

Android Enterprise Work profile is supported on Android 5.1 or later.

To enroll a device with Work Profile, follow the instructions at Enrolling Android Enterprise Devices.

Work Apps

The managed Google Play Store allows MDM administrators to distribute work versions of apps and restrict which apps users can download from the Google Play onto their Android Enterprise devices. To use the managed Google Play store, you need to set up an Enterprise Binding. Learn more at Android Enterprise Bindings.

If you don't plan to use the managed Google Play Store, you don't need to worry about enterprise bindings. During enrollment, choose Skip Google Account Addition During Enrollment on Managed Android Devices. You can still install apps to devices using packages.
