Conditional Rules

Conditional Rules enable SOTI Connect administrators to configure automatic device actions based on predefined conditions.
Note: In SOTI Connect 2025.0, former Individual Automation Rules (IAR) and Group Automation Rules (GAR) combined into Conditional Rules.
Tip: During the device selection step of creating a Conditional Rule, users cannot select only a group, unlike with GAR. You must bundle a group selection with either a device, a device type, or both.
Tip: During the setup step, a toggle is available to apply actions to all selected devices instead of individual devices. Toggling this option enables Transition Logic Settings.
For more details on Conditional Rules, see:
Note: When you edit a Conditional Rule to include more than 100 devices, the UI does not immediately process the device number update. Instead, it displays the number of devices as per the previous configuration. Consequently, the rule does not appear as disabled, even though it is disabled in the background.
As a temporary workaround to overcome the issue:
  1. Edit the rule again without making any changes.
  2. Save the rule.
The UI will now reflect the correct status of the rule as disabled.
