Add/Edit Custom Attribute

Use the Add Custom Attribute (or Edit Custom Attribute) dialog to configure new, or to edit existing, custom attributes. For details, see Creating Custom Attributes and Custom Attributes.
Restriction: To edit the Name or Value of a custom attribute, you must first make sure the custom attribute is not in use. Make sure all devices, device groups, virtual groups and profiles have a value of None (Inherited) for the custom attribute.
Name Enter a descriptive name for the attribute.
Data Type Select a data type for the attribute:
  • Text: Limits values to alphanumeric characters.
  • Numeric: Limits values to numeric characters.
  • Date: Limits values to dates in the following syntax: mm dd yyyy.
  • Boolean: Limits values to binary values: true or false.
  • Enumerator: Enables you to create a comma-separated list of values in the Set Values field. Values are later placed in a drop-down list when assigning a custom attribute value to a device or device group.
Value Enter a comma-separated list of values. This list is later displayed in a drop-down when assigning a custom attribute value to a device or device group.
Note: You must set data type to Enumerator to enable this field.
Send to Device Turn on this toggle to store the attribute and its value in the device's SOTI MobiControl Device Agent.
Note: You require this attribute if you want to use the Insert Custom Attribute option on a Lockdown screen. Do not enable it for sensitive data.

After making changes, follow the prompts to Save or Cancel them.
