Single App Mode

Use the Single App Mode profile configuration to lock a device to a single application. You can further limit functionality within the app by disabling or enabling further options. You can use either App Store apps or Enterprise apps. However, if using an Enterprise app, you must first add it to SOTI MobiControl via an app policy. If you do not, you can not later select it in the Single App Mode profile configuration.

Exiting Single App Mode on iOS Devices

For iOS devices, you can exit single app mode at the device level in iOS devices. This requires the following configurations for the single app of interest:

Create a Feature Control (iOS) profile configuration, and from Applications > App Security and Privacy > Single App Mode Whitelist, add the single app of interest.
Request the developer of the single app of interest to build an in-app button that calls the requestGuidedAccessSession method.

This creates an Autonomous Single App Mode where the device user can enter/exit single app mode from within the single app of interest itself.
