Advanced
In the Advanced dialog box you can specify advanced options for the application you are adding or editing.
| Deployment Type | Select whether you want this application to be suggested or mandatory.
If you select Suggested, the user can choose whether to install the application. If you select Mandatory, the application will install automatically. |
| Request device to install application a maximum of number times. | If Deployment Type is set to Suggested, and the device is unsupervised, select this option to specify a maximum number of times the user will be requested to install the application. |
| Automatically update app version in App Catalog to the latest version in App Store | Select this option to have SOTI MobiControl automatically discover newer versions of applications in the App Store and update the version in the application catalog.
When you select this option, a message appears showing the last time that SOTI MobiControl searched the App Store for newer versions. (SOTI MobiControl normally searches the App Store once per day during nightly maintenance.) |
| Automatically request devices to update app when App Catalog is updated with new version | Select this option to have SOTI MobiControl automatically send a request to devices to update applications when newer versions appear in the application catalog. (The request is sent during the next device check-in.)
If both this option and the above option are selected, devices will automatically be requested to update applications to the latest version in the application catalog, which in turn have been updated to the latest version in the App Store. |
| Request Devices to Update App Now | Sends a request to devices to update the application to the version in the application catalog. |
| Provisioning Profile | Click Browse and select the provisioning profile file for the application.
The provisioning profile governs which devices are allowed to install the application. |
| Bundle ID | Shows the bundle identifier of the application. If the displayed bundle ID is not correct, click the Search button to open the Installed Applications dialog box and select the correct application bundle ID.
Note: If the displayed bundle ID is not the correct ID for the application, SOTI MobiControl will remove the application from the device.

| Automatically update app on devices to at least this version | Select this option to allow SOTI MobiControl to automatically push app updates to the device when it detects an update is available. |
| Manually control the update of app on devices | Select this option to keep the app on its current version until you manually trigger an update. If no updates are available, the Push App Update button will be disabled.
Note: This option is not supported for applications with device-based VPP licenses on devices running iOS versions prior to 10.3.

| Remove app when device is unenrolled | When enabled, the app will be automatically uninstalled from the device when the device is unenrolled |
| Prevent application data back up to iTunes and iCloud | When enabled, the app is blocked from uploading data to iTunes and iCloud. |
| Default | Select the Default button to reset all of the advanced options settings to their default states. |
