A Package is a set of data files or software that has been
packaged into a single compressed file. MobiControl includes a tool called MobiControl Package
Studio that allows users to quickly create package files. A Package file contains
the files that are to be deployed, as well as instructions about where and how the files are
to be installed on the mobile device. MobiControl Packages can optionally contain
script logic to perform additional installation/uninstallation procedures. Once a Package has been created and added to
the system it is ready to be deployed by MobiControl.
 MobiControl Manager - Packages View The 'Packages View' in MobiControl Manager allows users to view information about packages that have been added to the system, as well as add new packages to the system. The tree on the left shows the various packages that have been added to the system and their versions. By clicking on a package in the tree an administrator can view detailed information about the package in the right pane (e.g. Package name, Package version, Deployment Rules configured for the package, Devices that the package is to be installed on, etc.). |
